I'm back from a 2 week break and i have to say i feel absolutely refreshed and energised!! One word, greatness. :)

All the yummy delicious food that i have been devouring like there's no tomorrow, eating 6 meals a day, double of everything. The red packets with sweet smelling cash inside are always nice to have. This year the biggest ever received from Mom and Dad. Thanks guys!

This year is extra special because i flew from OZ, Chloe flew back from UK, and Jade flew back from KL, a complete family hanging out. Awesomeness!

One of the main events during my holiday. Chinese New Year. They have always been loud and merry. A western equivalent of Christmas time but a splendid 15 day celebration. Coming from a big family, we had the whole house full of people where there was no place else to sit or walk!

Fireworks go off at midnight and the sky is lit up with fireworks from everyone. Thousands of "Kong Ming" lanterns float into the sky lighting up the sky. These go on for two full nights. Dad and uncles have always played this game using Dominoes but played a complete different way. The game is called Tien Gow which means Heaven and Nine. We have always wondered how it worked and this year we finally got taught.

Dad gave us a 35 min lesson at 2.30 am, again, the complicated formations and names, worst of all in Cantonese (a chinese dialect) names and meanings to each tile, and ended it with "i will test you tomorrow morning". Dad style.

This ancient Chinese game came from the Dynasty era according to Dad as it was passed down from his dad, and his dad, and the ancestors. I felt privileged and felt guilty for not asking sooner. This game have complex rules and formations as there are males and females involved. To play this game, you have to memorise every sequence and formation, not forgetting differentiation between whether it is a male, female or mixed pair. Number of dots on the dominoes do not mean anything, only the formations, which is completely different from poker cards. The only thing similar to Poker is who has the upper hand gets to have the next go. Here's a Wiki link for Tien Gow.

Lastly, i'm proud to say me and my two sisters, also Samuel and Aaron, picked it up pretty much the next day and we even played a few games with dad and uncles! So good! Now we're ready for hard core advanced formations :)

Bok Choy Domestication

Something to share that is totally not me!! But i have to grown to love it. And i have to say living in Western Australia long enough does change you. According to my so-called DNA, plants will die under my care and I'm coming from own experience.

But after working with agribusiness and also in WA, i tend to learn what stuff makes it work for a dummy. Its like walking into a bookstore and buying a certain "Guide for Dummies". I was lucky and got it for free from talking and finding out.

So anyways, here's our home grown organic Bok Choy which i am so proud of!!!!!!

I have to be honest. I put the theory in, but no physical which was poor. Nevertheless, please thank David for this attractive healthy organic bunch of Bok Choy that i could not have attempted better!

Yeah!!! Our stir fry was soooooooooo delicious that we ate it all before we realised that we were supposed to take a picture to share!!!

One of my favourite kind of food is seafood. If there was only one thing left that i could choose to eat, i would choose seafood. I can eat a kilo of prawns to myself. No kidding. When it comes to food i love, the word "portion control" doesnt exist. :)

Diving Summer'11

I got my diving ticket back in Spring 07 with a bunch of friends, and summer was pretty much set out. Almost every week was a dive trip, and it was such good fun! We went a bit over the top, bought all our gears, the only thing missing was the BC and tank as it was way too expensive! We even even heading into advanced level until one of us got into a major accident where he got hit by a car riding to work.

Nevertheless, every year after that, we always included diving as a summer agenda. I have to say it's such an amazing feeling when you're in the water, it's so breathtaking and the best thing is, its sooooooo peaceful and serene. All you can hear is your breathing and quietness. :)

So here i am just a few weeks ago, all ready to get into the water. This was a real easy shore dive. As always, we always see something new. This time, we saw a gigantic weird looking snail (size of a cat) in it's glory, dark things hidden in deep seaweeds (didnt really get way into it as we didnt have a torch), and finally a 2M ++ stingray when we were least unexpected. I've had a few encounters with Stingrays and so far, haven't been unpleasant as they tend to be really inquisitive and want to get real close..

Something different besides marine life, an old school mask was found!

Finally, I still have trouble equalizing, especially after going past 10M which really shits me. But apparently its a girl thing. :P

Got to have a few more dives before summer ends! :)

So my dog not only loves the beach, he also loves swimming! He is real intelligent because when you ask him, "Do you want to go to the beach?", he stops whatever he is doing, jump off and run straight to the garage, and yes, he knows how to open the door to get to the garage, he either jumps into the car if the window is down, or sit right next to the car, on standby mode. Yessss, his favourite words; ball, beach, and food.

He goes absolutely stupid at the beach until he makes himself sick. And then he's ready to do it all over again!

I try to fit it as much as i can since it's summer and the weather has been pretty good! :) He's happy, and im happy!

So i took up surfing when i was Bali. And i have to say that was by far the best thing i have done this year. I can finally understand why surfers were so crazy chasing waves. And for me, what i am capable of is nothing. Now every day, there is a 5 minute moment to myself where i wish i am out practising, making myself better. Work and all its hoo hah, booooooo...

Well, like every year, i have crossed off another on my to do list. And this one is for sure to stay. Meanwhile, i am hunting a second hand 7 - 7'2 foot mini mal and please if anyone knows of any wanting to sell, please email me!!

I hope i get my hands on one before Xmas so i can get better!!!! :)

Doesnt this look exactly like you're in Japan? I couldnt help it but take a picture of another side of the beautiful ancient city of Suzhou, when i visited China.

Suzhou, also referred to eastern version of Venice because of its historic canals. This is one the most prosperous cities in China and you can tell the difference once you step in the city. Even when it came to our meals, our food was soaked in oil and extremely salty as in the olden days, it was a sign that one has money to afford oil and salt.My sister on one of the many stone bridges that the city is renowned for..
Me on the historic Xuanmiao temple, built in AD276, and it was freezing! Amazing how a structure is still standing tall after all these years.

Pushpa the elephant, Taro

One of the best things in life are simple things that you dont get to do every day. Like washing an elephant. Wow! Talk about scrubbing hard!! Even the cheeks are tough as, and the eyes, and the ears...everything!!

I tried convincing the elephant riders (each rider is designated to each elephant, like a dragon rider!)to let me have a go at riding them after washing them and got told no. It was too dangerous and i needed training first. Oh wells....

And here i was, tired from scrubbing the big girl and decided to sit on Pushpa's leg for a breather! :) Didn't think she mind...

The tale of two sparrows

Recently there were two sparrows that both moved into town. Both were fairly new in the neighbourhood. One was clearly the leader and proud to be one as he rightfully earned it. The other looked at the leader and thought meh, i better jolly follow him as my leader has gone migrating for the season. He was closer and it made more sense.

So this new leader that has rightfully earned his title, was real eager to learn. His willingness to listen earned respect from the other sparrows soon enough. Words of the leader travelled and of course then came the others that wanted more and saw it as an opportunity.

They approached the leader and told them many great things. The leader enjoyed the stories and shared it with his minions. His minions were happy and so were the storybearers. They thought hey, our stories excites the leader and it will bring us closer. So stories were told and shared through many nights until the stories were running out and the bearers had to come up with new stories.

Bikram yoga

I have never been much of a fan of yoga or pilates. I have done various kinds; Hatha, Power, Iyengar, etc. I went through a period of practising pilates regularly. I was advised to do it as it would help with my injuries.

It is definitely relaxing and tones you up but the adrenalin junkie me prefers getting my heart rate pumped. For me to feel that i have had a workout, i had to do 2-3 classes straight in a row. And that takes up too much time! So always straight after recovery, i give up on them.

Then i came across Bikram yoga. Man it was a challenge. The heat made all the difference. To be stuck in a 40 degree room practising, was not fun. Concentration is ten times harder! But guess what i am falling in love with it. I hated it at first and never wanted to do it ever again but i thought i am not a quitter.

I have started it again, and i have to say, you SUFFER and if you tough it out, you will see the benefits.

First proper run

My first proper attempt at 12km run for charity, where you pay to suffer. I signed up firstly as a challenge to myself, so i will be forced to train myself and not be a slack in this cold winter. Plus its for a good cause! Furthermore, we started having a bet where i said i will beat Sam, a guy, which was fun at the time, then time made me realised it was stupid!

Due to work schedule and being away all the time, my "training" was non-existent. My exercises were the occasional jog and yoga to de-stress and that was about it.

Came the day and i was more determined to beat Sam because that means no parking tickets for 2 months if i win!!!

So pumped i was, really to wing it!!! And i have to say i am really proud of myself for finishing it and beating Sam with no training! :) Yeah for me!! I could have gone faster for sure but it was way too crowded, and i swear i wasted 5mins waiting for drinks.

Now i can 12km is achievable as my furthest distance was 6-7kms, and me not exactly fit at the moment i must add. I am determined to train next year and beat my time or if i feeling adventurous, i will attempt the half marathon 21km! :)

Lady or the Tramp

Hello, i have been neglecting this blog majorly i have to admit. I have been so busy lately that i dont know whether its day or night, or what day it actually is. Phone meetings after one another, its been pretty crazy. I have never been this serious in my life and wow, i have grown up!!

But here it is, just from one the weekends, one of our lovely girls getting hitched, officially off the market very soon!!

We decided to go op shopping, and i was delighted because i get to dress like i wouldnt normally, haha. Well, i wanted to turn up as something funny, like Charlie Chaplin or something, but the theme was "Lady or the Tramp". So ladies we all went, i was dressed as a lady in 1960s and i love being in costumes because it sets the mood.

Again, i am forced to admit my love for the sun, sand and the sea.

Had the opportunity to dive again. This time even better! Visibility and weather makes such a DIFFERENCE. Went through caves, holes, saw stingrays, various kinds of fishes, Port Jackson shark, sea urchins, magnificent timid fishes that hides in holes, crayfishes, crabs, prawns, sea dragons etc.... wow there's nothing but pure looovveee...

Accidents again, not me, but some of the boys, haha (uh ummmm i am tougher than the boyssss) haha.

Finally, noted, this rotto trip is definitely one for the journal. Kingston Spit, if i could be a mermaid, you will be my permanent home.

Holidays mean one thing. I get to do things i cant normally do. And its soooooo gooooood....

I get to relax and worry about things later...

I get to go to Bunnings and see what plants, vegetables, and DIY stuff for the house..

Im still in Melbourne, miss boofhead, but loving every bit of Melbourne. Melbourne has sooo much to offer and i love the fact that after work, i can have a shower, get dressed, and go check out stuff!!! Whether it be an art gallery; checking out a never been before laneway restaurants/cafe; admiring graffiti art on the walls; etc...

Visited grandma when i had the chance. She was so excited to see me because she wasn't expecting me at all! Wow. I nearly poured down when i saw her because i was so happy... My wall was literally crumbling down that moment because i dont need to have a wall when im with her. That feeling...wow..is pretty cool to have...No weariness, stress, just pure love and care.

She's still always cheery, bright as ever! My grandma is fearless and totally awesome!

Man i have the coolest grandma in this world and no one can beat that.

Had to spend this weekend catching up with domestic stuff or else i cant find the time as i am not home much anymore due to work...

We found a piano at Keane's auntie's house when we over for dinner, and decided to have a crack. Wow...it has been years since we all played a piano...J's actually qualified to be a teacher because she finished the last grade...i'm the worst...

Today i saw tears in a woman's eyes. A strong, smart, independent doctor whom i have gotten to know. But yet she crumbled down by the environment around her. She had projects and plans but now they might be a distance away. She fought what she thought was worth fighting for and she lost.

I experienced it today for the second time from a personal level. And it got harder. I asked myself why did this happen to such a nice girl. And my jadedness got even deeper. I stood there, did nothing but listened and felt like the most worthless person that wanted to help so much but couldn't.

Someone once told me,"enjoy adolesence, go crazy, think about the consequences later but make sure everything you do is out of good heart. You were gifted this once in your life so enjoy it. Because as you get older, year by year, it will not be the same anymore". His words were so true.

Wow. Massive. Hills. Tree trunks. Running Water. WA nature at its best. Broke out some good sweat and cuts. Fell once, cuts and bruised but nothing serious. I am prepared for more to come since some of the terrains get quite tough. And i now have a massive HATRED for loose gravels. Trail was nothing compared to the ones down in Margs as the difference in climates. Nevertheless, it was lots of fun!!

By the way, there might be a BIG CHANGE for me but we will see...I have already made up my mind on Friday and there is no turning back.

A part of growing up and getting older is realising that good times are no longer clubbing, clubbing and clubbing. But rather actually whipping a good feed, having a few drinks with friends, catching up as everyone is living a pretty busy life now. Instead of having a big night and regretting it the next day, staying home and whipping a nice dinner sounds pretty damn good to me..a fresh good loaf of bread is a MUST, and no i didnt bake it haha..bought a fresh loaf from Bakers Delight.
*sorry for the pictures* My roast lamb. Had a few raving reviews. There wasn't much meat left in the pic as we were too busy tucking in. 2 and 1/2 hours and wow, i must say the meat literally fell of the bone...and all the oils and flavours were soaked up nicely.

I must say i looked at the lamb long and hard and i considered that i should serve this and not eat it myself. Now that i am in agriculture, my thoughts for lamb has COMPLETELY CHANGED. Mind you, this was my favourite meat and i love it so much.
Lastly, carrot cake for dessert. And yes, this one was a team effort. Made ourselves and sorry for the messy icing...i was getting a bit impatient. It was yummmm...

Went to Gaga’s concert more than a month ago and I have yet to post an entry about it. I know…..slacker I am…..hehe…
After the concert, I have decided that I love her. She is such a performer. I am always a big fan to artists who are talented, as in they write their own songs, and with some quirkiness added onto it. In Gaga’s case, craziness is more like it. But I love it!!! Highlight was her in a nude bubble bodysuit playing on a see through bubble piano singing Poker face. They've got the moves..Good ol' Nicole was the limelight most of the time...I would love to have Nicole’s body. So toned and minimal body fat. You got to be pretty disciplined to have a body like that and I wish I am half as disciplined like her.

I don’t mind the Pussycats but trust me if given a choice, I will not pay to go see them in a concert. I am more of a rock/indie kinda girl. I went along as a favour for a close girlfriend and I actually did not mind it.

That weekend was huge and again my little Canon was flashing away...way too many picture to upload in fb and here....oh wells...slowly....

As for Gaga, you are absolutely GAGA and I love it! :)

New layout and new career?

Okay. I havent officially said anything about my new layout. Well, this is it. There will be more changes to it but it will be slight. My new banner made by me. I roughly had an idea of what i wanted. Pretty happy with the results. It was easier than expected. I honestly thought i couldnt do it as i havent done anything seriously photoshopping for ages, creating banners that is.

I found out that as i was creating my banner and going through the thought process of designing the layout, it was actually satisfying. I am seriously thinking i should maybe have a change of career. Something that involves creativity and designing stuff. I think that will definitely suit me much better than my current career. Hehe..

Pictures from our Mexican dinner with the ladies at Zapatas since the last time i had proper Mexican was in America which was yonks ago. Heard from J that the burrito was not bad and prices were really reasonable, and good range on the drinks menu. From that, we decided to give it a shot. Was told that our homemade nachos were better (well, i make some pretty mean nachos to be honest...hehee....but i thought my burrito was pretty damn nice. Randomly starting chatting to the American guy next to us just to suss out what he thinks as America has the best Mexican food!!! He thought it was not bad and he was actually impressed.
As for us, we had a good night because of the company more than the food. Ok, and my burrito. :)

Celebrated my birthday two weekends ago and it was a good night. Took too many photos and i have no idea where to start!
Everything turned a bit messy and ghoulish blur towards the night as always. Some stuff remembered while some not so much. But its good to know that i have friends that care.
I will try and upload the photos here and facebook but currently it is sitting in a too hard basket as there are a few to go through.

Celebrated it again with close friends that couldnt make it to the birthday party. Mexican food was decided and i have to say, it is always a good night celebrated over dinner with close friends.

Checked out city's Sunday Market since we were around the area stocking up. I havent been there in years since i left uni. And to my dismay, it was so pathetic. I was appalled at how terrible it was. There was no variety at all. So we wandered off and checked out the art gallery. That was an adventure getting up to no good. Amusing ourselves with crap as usual. One do not need money to have fun.

Other than that, i am still sleep deprived. I think i need to seriously sleep for 3 days straight. That day will never come.

Here's something i can share with people about my childhood...

Growing up, I was a tomboy, i didnt have a care for the world, was never interested in boys, i was a bully, i used to make girls cry because deep down i was jealous, i had so much anger build up inside me, i hated the world and i hated everyone in it.

Slowly, growing up, i settled down. I became less angry. I realised that i am a girl and it is OKAY to wear a skirt and be girlish. I became more understanding. I was calmer. I became nice. Too nice perhaps. And now i try my hardest not to be.

Now all grown up, when faced with frustrations, instead of aiming it at someone, sometimes i wish i can cry just to vent, but i cant. I tried my damnest and yet i cant.

I comtemplating buying a punching bag and taking up boxing so i can let go some of that anger. I run often because it helps, but with the season changing, it is dark by the time i get home. Looks like boxing might be the way to go SOON....

Lately, very lately, there is a certain person pushing some serious buttons. I have been bearing and grinning all the way through and now i am up to 80%.

I have never ever met someone so incapable of social standards. So unaware of people skills. She is offending everyone which i dont care but not me. As my manager told me i need to be involved because of my position, i need to learn that these things exist. And i hate office politics ESPECIALLY when i need to tell her what to do. She is so blinded by her culture and sad to say, is my culture. She is so involved with it that she forgets that people that she deals with are not from her culture but yet, she is married to one.

There is something to learn in this. People skills, communication ability, versatility, street smarts, adaptation, good sense of humour and independence will actually bring you further in life than just plain qualifications. So i was told.

Today was a LONG and dreadful day.

I had today all panned out. Early rise with a run followed with a bike ride. Emily's farewell party. Followed by a good dinner.

But instead, got woken up in the wee hours that our house got broken into. My whole bag was GONE, laptop gone, work laptop gone, work CAR gone! Keane's car key stolen! His watch and wallet gone! That means my WALLET was gone too because it was in my bag!!!! My life!!!!!

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Cops came. The whole shibang.....

Hours later...car was found in where else but Gossies where the coons hang out. I cant go into the bush tomorrow anymore. Nor work with my laptop (which took me weeks) to get it all set up and working properly!!!!! FUck.

Locksmiths came and changed the locks. Things will be replaced thank god for insurance. But fuck, the INCONVENIENCE...

I drove to the street where the car was dumped....hoping i will find my wallet....

And now.....all i want is my wallet.....take all the money but just give me my wallet back....

What else can go wrong in my life????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Today i feel as though a big piece of puzzle missing has been found and put back to where it should be. One big load off my chest.

For someone that fiercely protects her independence, i got mine back, finally. I feel somewhat normal again. I can do things that i want, whenever and wherever.

I have been missing in action for a bit because i was going through a self-loathing mode. Paying back for what i did. Everything i touched, cared, owned was destroyed.

Now I can feel that my life is starting to become normal again. :)

For those that were by my side, being my pillars of strength, you have earned a permanent place in my heart....

Happy New Year y'all. Everything is happening at a fast forward motion for me so i dont know where to start. I've had an exciting start for 2009 with this new job. May be hitting the country in a few months so i cant wait!

Other than that, the break has been good and i needed it. Just chillin', caught up with friends, ate too much, and wayyyyyy tooooo much junk food, drank too much...I'm the brownest i've been in years so im not complaining.
